Best Time to Visit Egypt for a Nile Cruise

Egypt’s climate is one of the world’s most consistent — sunshine virtually every day of the year. But not every season offers the same Nile cruise experience.

**October to April: Peak Season**
This is Egypt at its finest. Temperatures are warm and comfortable (22–30°C), evenings are cool, and the light is magical — perfect for photography at temples. October and March are particularly popular. Christmas and New Year sailings book out months in advance.

**May and September: Shoulder Season**
Slightly warmer (32–38°C) but still very manageable, especially in the evenings. Prices drop by 15–25%, availability is good, and the temples are noticeably less crowded. Excellent value for experienced travellers.

**June to August: Low Season**
Egypt’s summer is extreme — temperatures reach 42–45°C in Luxor and Aswan. Temples can be visited, but outdoor activity is best confined to early morning and evening. In exchange: cruise prices drop by 35–50%, ships run at low occupancy, and you’ll often have temples almost to yourself. Ideal for heat-tolerant travellers on a budget.

**Our recommendation**: October, November, or March for first-time visitors. February for ultimate comfort. August for budget travellers who can handle the heat.
